It’s moderately sweet with no astringency, so it’s pretty smooth going down with a mild creaminess. I enjoy the subtle and delicate floral aroma and the color vibrancy of this matcha powder and appreciate the finely milled texture of it. It is a true ceremonial grade matcha. Have I had better though? Yes. So for this to be touted along the lines of-and explicitly, unashamedly claimed-by the manufacturer to be ‘the best tasting matcha you’ve ever had’ is in my opinion exaggerating the quality of this particular brand and so I was obviously a little disappointed. I really only tried it because I wanted to confirm the hype for myself. What I can confirm is that it is without a shadow-of-doubt a high quality matcha. Though, characteristically, it isn’t special enough and nothing stands out about this matcha to warrant writing home about. Simply put, for how much product and the kind of product you get based on what this product overpromises to be, I don’t believe it’s worth the price.
